The reason SMS Marketing boosts your marketing endeavours!

SMS marketing

Let’s say you just had an email marketing campaign and a fax marketing campaign covering both companies focused on the online medium and companies that are trying to keep up with the latest developments, but still using fax as their main means of communicating.

Whether you are trying to capture one or both of these company types, the thing you cannot go without in the promotion slice of your marketing mix is mobile marketing.

Mobile marketing encapsulates SMS marketing, but it is much more than that! Mobile marketing is practically everything you do marketing wise via smartphones that’s why adapting, innovation and being in sync with the latest fashion and development in this area is very important. The same goes for all marketing and technology developments; that is the reason I’m writing for you and that’s why we are having this conversation.

Ok, so let’s not drift away too much from our topic because mobile marketing has a lot of different elements such as Multimedia Messaging Services, Unstructured Supplementary Service Data, Bluetooth, Wireless and Infrared, Mobile Internet and Social Media and Mobile Applications. What we are mainly interested in as marketers is the slice called SMS marketing because it is the basic element of mobile marketing.

SMS marketing

SMS marketing is a must as complementary methods of promotion due to the volume of the information that can be sent. You can write a short incentive in a text massage and then link or connect the rest of the information in any way you deem possible to ensure the receivers of the message have easy access to your information and promotions if they want to access it.

Businesses are teams of people and SMS marketing is the perfect way to inform people (potential customers and current customers) of your businesses’ promotions, discounts and stock liquidations.

When you use this tool you have to remember a few tricks and tips that will maximise your results:

  1. Make the message short and clear, so they easily understand what they have to do in order to benefit from your offer.
  2. We recommend that you send no more than one message a week, because an overflow of text messages will cause your audience to ignore you.
  3. Keep your messages sounding more like a friendly conversation than an official advertisement.
  4. Keep in mind the demographics and nature of the market niche you are targeting when composing your message.

This being said, let’s use this power at our disposal to stir up some interest!
